Digestive Center
In the Digestive Center, the digestive tract is examined to diagnose various diseases. The center also performs emergency endoscopic procedures for inpatients. Emergency and urgent care may occasionally delay appointments for scheduled patients.
The center performs gastroscopy, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy of the small intestine, and function tests related to esophageal function. In addition, the center performs ultrasound examinations via endoscopy and procedures on the bile and pancreatic ducts in the imaging unit.

Kidney Center
Nephrology, dialysis & peritoneal dialysis clinics
The Kidney Center has three units: a nephrology clinic, a dialysis clinic, and a peritoneal dialysis and home hemodialysis clinic.
The nephrology clinic of the Kidney Center provides a comprehensive range of services for kidney diseases. It is responsible for the diagnosis, outpatient treatment, and follow-up of kidney diseases. Milder kidney diseases are followed in collaboration with primary care. Specifically, the nephrology clinic is responsible for the following: diagnosis, out-patient treatment and follow-up of kidney diseases; preparation of patients for dialysis and the follow-up of patients after kidney transplantation.
The dialysis clinic is responsible for chronic and acute hemodialysis in the Päijät-Sote region, proving hemodialysis. The unit can treat up to 28 hemodialysis patients simultaneously. In addition, the dialysis unit performs plasmapheresis for neurological, hematological, and nephrological patients.
The peritoneal dialysis and home hemodialysis clinic trains patients in self-administered peritoneal dialysis at home and provides outpatient follow-up.
The work is on an out-patient’s department/unit and the work as a nurse can be following-up of kidney diseases, educating patients about their disease, preparation of patients for dialysis, working as a nurse in the dialysis unit. The patients who come to the unit usually come from home. The work usually does not require much physically as the patients are “walking in themselves”. The center only opens during Monday to Friday during the day, meaning that thework does not usually include shiftwork.

Surgical Clinic
Minor procedures under local anesthesia
The Surgical Clinic is specialized in orthopaedics/traumatology/rheumatological orthopaedics, hand surgery, abdominal surgery, plastic surgery, vascular and thoracic surgery as well as general surgery. The clinic employs also specialist nurses who provide care for patients with specific surgical conditions, such as ostomy and PEG, wound care, podiatrists, cast makers, joint replacement, and breast cancer patients and vascular surgery patient care.
In addition to appointments, the surgical clinic performs minor procedures under local anesthesia, colonoscopy and related procedures; casts and cast changes, as well as special casts for diabetes patients and special loads, especially for pediatric patients, vascular measurements and injection treatment for varicose veins.
The work is on an outpatient’s department/unit and the work as a nurse can be following-up of surgical interventions together with the surgeon/doctor and the work is mainly educating patients about their intervention and pre- and post operative care. The patients who come to the unit usually come from home. The work usually does not require much physically as the patients are “walking in themselves”. The center only opens during Monday to Friday during the day, meaning that the work does not usually include shiftwork.

Contract
A full-time, permanent position with 38 hours 15 minutes per week working time
Prior to licencing
A basic monthly, full-time salary of a carer ( 2040,15 €/month before taxes & social contributions) prior to reaching your licenced status and when working in Finland.
After recognition
After recognition of qualifications, a basic monthly salary starting from 2689,83€/ month before taxes & social constibutions (*please, see above).
Additional compensation
for inconvenient working hours (evenings, weekends, nights, holidays & overtime) and vacation time which are paid on top of the basic monthly salary if and when applicable. Part of the holiday bonus is tradable for additional vacation days.
Vacations
Minimum 28 days per year starting after the first full working year acting as basis for calculations.

Qualifications
