A smooth landing to Western Uusimaa primary care services

means utilising the doctor's special medical expertise during treatment, needs assessment, appointments and examinations in an independent way of working in primary healthcare centers. 

As a doctor, you will work as an expert in your own field in a multiprofessional working group. Your work will include the following responsiblities:

  • primary healthcare reception services, including both non-urgent and urgent care

  • consultations

  • school doctors consultantions

  • Emergency reception possibilities during evenings and weekends.

The positions are located around Western Uusimaa, within a reasonable driving distance from the larger metropolitan area.

 Minimum 5 492.92€/ month
START SALARY
0 years of service

The basic start salary is 5492.92€/ month BEFORE taxes and social contributions as a starting salary with no previous years of acceptable service, in accordance with the collective agreement of Medical Doctors (LS), paygrade L1TK001C. This salary is paid as a minimum, without shift work, after you have received your Finnish license to practice your profession as a medical doctor.

Personal salary additions (LUVN supplements) are possible to be paid on top of base salary.

3 years of service

The basic start salary 5 561,29/month BEFORE taxes and social contributions as a starting salary salary with 3 years of previous acceptable service, in accordance with the collective agreement of Medical Doctors (LS), paygrade L1TK001D. This salary is paid as a minimum after 3 acceptable service years, without shift work, after you have received your Finnish license to practice your profession as a medical doctor.

Personal salary additions (supplements) are possible to be paid on top of base salary.

The basic start salary 6 046.36/month BEFORE taxes and social contributions as a starting salar salary when you work as a specialist doctor of General Medicine, in accordance with the collective agreement of Medical Doctors (LS), paygrade L1TK002AThis salary is paid as a minimum, without shift work, after you have received your Finnish license to practice your profession as a specialized medical doctor, with specialization in Family or General Medicine.

Personal salary additions (supplements) are possible to be paid on top of base salary.

What is the offer?

Contract

full-time, 2 year fixed term contract, during which you will apply for permanent position (in accordance to the Finnish law) with 38 hours 15 minutes per week working time.

Prior to licencing

A basic monthly, full-time salary of a doctor in status L1TK001B    (3 855.58€ /month before taxes & social contributions) prior to reaching your licenced status and when working in Finland. 

After recognition

After receiving licenced status in Finland, a basic monthly salary starting from
5 492.92€/ month without previous work experience &  specialization (L1TK001C)
before taxes & social contributions but including the location bonus (*please, see above).

Additional compensation

Personal salary additions (LUVN supplements) are available during and after licensing period. 

Vacations

Minimum 23 days per year starting after the first full working year acting as basis for calculations. Previous accepted work experience from with EU /EEA area will add vacation days in accordance to experience years. Maximum is 38 vacation days yearly.

Healthcare, insurances, unemployment & retirement fees and benefits are included. Employer also offers extensive work-related healthcare.

Personal benefit card

is the key to the employee benefits: discounts and personal monthly amount to use in different services, such as commuting, culture & sports. Yearly value is 200€.

is offered from the capital Helsinki to some hospital & healthcare center locations for doctors, with hospitals own busses. Free-of-charge, naturally.

The expectations

For you with a genuine interest and passion for practicing general medicine and a well balanced life:

Qualifications

At least a  Masters level degree from Medical school within the EU/EEA - area  (2005/36/EU) and Registered Medical Doctor / Specialist Doctor -status within EU/EEA.

Eligibility

You should be a doctor in good standing, and without a criminal record as required by the Finnish Law.

Experience

Preferrably 3 years of previous work experience as registered professional within EU/EEA.

Attitude

An independent & responsible attitude, with good communication & team working skills. 

Commitment to training

Commitment to a free-of-charge language training program, and to study a minimum 20 hrs per week in order to reach a B1 level of Finnish language at the end of the training.

Commitment to relocation

Commitment to relocating and starting work in Finland after reaching your target in language training.

Considered as a plus

Fluent English language skills. Intermediate English language skills are required.
