The starting salary for a registered nurse in Finland is €2,801.42 per month. This is the gross salary before taxes and social security contributions. It is paid as a starting salary without any approved previous years of service, according to the Collective Agreement for Social and Health Care Personnel (SOTE agreement), pay grade TVA2.
This salary is paid as a minimum salary without shift work after you have obtained a Finnish registered nurse license.
Shift work is paid according to the number of hours worked. Evening work is paid as a 15% cash compensation on the unadjusted hourly wage or given as corresponding free time. Night work is paid as a 30% cash compensation on the unadjusted hourly wage or given as corresponding free time. In shift work, the free time compensation is 24 minutes per night hour or a 40% cash compensation on the unadjusted hourly wage.

What is expected of you?
You have patients safety and well-being close to your heart and you always act in their best interest at the forefront.
You have excellent communication and team working skills, and can work in the required three-shift work with flexibility for on-call work.
You have a positive, development oriented and flexible mind-set.
You have at least 3 years of experience working as a nurse in operations rooms or in ICU, and are familiar with all relevant work tasks, routines and the importance of working with dedication.

Your Finnish adventure includes:
Contract
A full-time, fixed position of 2 years with 38 hours 15 minutes per week working time. It is possible to apply for a full-time, permanent positions once you have finalized your induction period and have been granted your Finnish license to practice.
Prior to licencing
A basic monthly, full-time salary of nurse in training (2626,19€/month before taxes & social contributions) prior to reaching your licenced status and when working in Finland.
After recognition
After recognition of qualifications, a basic monthly salary starting from 2801,42€/ month before taxes & social constibutions (*please, see above).
Additional compensation
for inconvenient working hours are paid on top of the basic monthly salary if and when applicable.
Sunday Work Pay: In addition to regular pay, employees are entitled to unadjusted hourly pay for each hour worked on Sundays and official Bank Holidays.
Saturday Work Pay: On weekdays, excluding Easter Saturday and Christmas Eve, employees are entitled to a 20% pay increase on their unadjusted hourly wage for work done between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
Evening Work: Evening work refers to work done between 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Employees are entitled to a 15% pay increase on their unadjusted hourly wage for evening work.
In all above cases employees can also opt for equivalent time off in lieu of overtime pay for regular working hours in shift work and other working time systems.
Night Work: Night work refers to work done between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM. Employees are entitled to a 30% pay increase on their unadjusted hourly wage for night work. Employees in shift work can opt for a time off compensation of 24 minutes per night work hour or a 40% pay increase on their unadjusted hourly wage.
Vacations
Minimum 23 days per year starting after the first full working year acting as basis for calculations. Previous accepted work experience will add vacation days in accordance to experience years. Maximum 38 days of vacation per year based on accrued service years, and available to those whom have accrued a minimum of 15 service years.

Qualifications
A Bachelors level degree as nurse
from an EU/EEA - area educational institution (2005/36/EU) and a registered nurses' status in an EU/EEA country.
Records
A clean Criminal Record & Record of Good Standing as required by the Finnish Law.
Experience
At least 3 years of previous work experience as a nurse working in either OR or ICU with a strong clinical knowledge and skills specific to surgical wards, including aseptic practices.
Attitude
An independent & responsible attitude, with good communication & team working skills, and the ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and adapt to changing situations.
Commitment to training
Commitment to a free-of-charge language training program, and to study a minimum 20 hrs per week in order to reach a B1 level of Finnish language at the end of the training. In addition, it is expected that further training after arrival to Finland in regards the recognition process will be required by the Finnish regulatory authority, Valvira, in order to receive a licensed status. Further details and support will be given througout the process.
Commitment to relocation
