As a registered nurse in Rehabilitations' in-patient ward at Wellbeing Services County of Lapland, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the everyday lives of your patients. In this position, you are responsible for a wide range of patients, including acute, research, rehabilitation, palliative, and hospice patients. Your goal is to provide high-quality nursing care, promote and maintain health, prevent and treat diseases using a rehabilitative approach, and alleviate suffering. This involves ensuring good end-of-life care for palliative patients and supporting their families. You are also responsible for maintaining and improving the quality of care and collaborating with other parties involved in patient care. Successful patient care requires close cooperation with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care, health promotion, and maintenance to patients
- Prevent and treat diseases using a rehabilitative approach
- Alleviate suffering
- Ensure good end-of-life care for palliative patients and support their families
- Maintain and improve the quality of care and collaborate with other parties involved in patient care
 - Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care and coordinate follow-up care at home or in another setting
- Provide patient and family education and counseling
 - Safely administer complex medications and monitor their effectiveness, including preparing intravenous medications and pain pump cassettes, placing medication orders, and administering patient vaccinations
 - Bear professional responsibility for the care of multimorbid patients; responsibility is emphasized in the evenings and at night when the doctor is only available by phone.
- Taking patient ECGs and blood samples outside of the laboratory morning rounds and always from different IV routes, arterial ABGs. Some staff also perform ABI and Holter measurements
- Act as a coordinating nurse outside of regular working hours
- Allow home care patients to contact the ward at night, provide them with guidance and counseling

This is the gross salary before taxes and social security contributions. It is paid as a starting salary without any approved previous years of service, according to the Collective Agreement for Social and Health Care Personnel (SOTE agreement), pay grade TVA2.

This salary is paid as a minimum salary without shift work after you have obtained a Finnish registered nurse license.

Shift work is paid according to the number of hours worked. Evening work is paid as a 15% cash compensation on the unadjusted hourly wage or given as corresponding free time. Night work is paid as a 30% cash compensation on the unadjusted hourly wage or given as corresponding free time. In shift work, the free time compensation is 24 minutes per night hour or a 40% cash compensation on the unadjusted hourly wage. This means that with an average shift work, the salary goes
up to 3 167,86€/ month

The service years increase is 3% from the task-specific salary. This is the gross salary before taxes and social security contributions. It is paid as a starting salary with 5 years of acceptable service in accordance with the Collective Agreement for Social and Health Care Personnel (SOTE Agreement), salary category TVA2.

This salary is paid as a minimum salary without shift work after you have obtained a Finnish registered nurse license.

Shift work is paid according to the number of hours worked. Evening work is paid as a 15% cash compensation on the unadjusted hourly wage or given as corresponding free time. Night work is paid as a 30% cash compensation on the unadjusted hourly wage or given as corresponding free time. In shift work, the free time compensation is 24 minutes per night hour or a 40% cash compensation on the unadjusted hourly wage. This means that with an average shift work, the salary goes

Contract

full-time, fixed position of 2 years with 38 hours 15 minutes per week working time. It is possible to apply for a full-time, permanent positions once you have finalized your induction period and have been granted your Finnish license to practice. 

Prior to licensing

A basic monthly, full-time salary of nurse in training (2616,93€/month before taxes & social contributions) prior to reaching your licenced status and when working in Finland.

After recognition

After recognition of qualifications, a basic monthly salary starting from 2 754,66€/ month before taxes & social constibutions (*please, see above).

Additional compensation

for inconvenient working hours  are paid on top of the basic monthly salary if and when applicable.  

Sunday Work Pay
: In addition to regular pay, employees are entitled to unadjusted hourly pay for each hour worked on Sundays and official Bank Holidays.


Saturday Work Pay: On weekdays, excluding Easter Saturday and Christmas Eve, employees are entitled to a 20% pay increase on their unadjusted hourly wage for work done between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM. 


Evening Work: Evening work refers to work done between 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Employees are entitled to a 15% pay increase on their unadjusted hourly wage for evening work.

In all above cases e
mployees can also opt for equivalent time off in lieu of overtime pay for regular working hours in shift work and other working time systems.


Night Work: Night work refers to work done between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM. Employees are entitled to a 30% pay increase on their unadjusted hourly wage for night work. Employees in shift work can opt for a time off compensation of 24 minutes per night work hour or a 40% pay increase on their unadjusted hourly wage.

A further motivational bonus of 50€ is awarded for above expectations performance.

Vacations

Minimum 23 days per year starting after the first full working year acting as basis for calculations. Previous accepted work experience will add vacation days in accordance to experience years. Maximum 38 days of vacation per year based on accrued service years.

Qualifications

 Bachelors level degree as nurse

from an EU/EEA - area educational institution (2005/36/EU) and a registered nurses' status in an EU/EEA country. 

Records

A clean Criminal Record & Record of Good Standing as required by the Finnish Law.

Experience

At least 6 months of previous work experience in similar tasks. 

Attitude

An independent & responsible attitude, with good communication & team working skills, and the ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and adapt to changing situations.

Commitment to training

Commitment to a free-of-charge language training program, and to study a minimum of 20 hrs per week in order to reach a B1 level of Finnish language at the end of the training.

Commitment to relocation

Commitment to relocating and starting work in Finland after reaching your target in language training.

Considered as a plus

Lower intermediate English language skills are required.
