As a doctor of general medicine at Wellbeing Services County of Kainuu, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of your patients. You will work with a team of dedicated professionals providing the best possible care for your patients as part of essential healthcare service teams in communities across beautiful and wild, rural Kainuu.

A smooth landing to Kainuu healthcare services

means utilising the doctor's special medical expertise during treatment, needs assessment, appointments and examinations in an independent way of working. 

As a doctor, you will work as an expert in your own field in a multiprofessional working group. Your work will include the following responsiblities:

  • ward doctor work in health center wards and/or assessment and rehabilitation units during your Finnish licensing process.

  • after licensing versatile general practitioner work including reception services, including treatment of both acute and non-acute matters such as disease treatment and diagnosis, implementation of preventive interventions, coordination of patient care together with specialized care, as well as monitoring and screening for different diseases

  • diagnostics and treatment of patients with diseases in singular or several different organ systems

  • mastering the planning of rehabilitation, assessment of functional capacity, palliative care and medication assessment.

  • Emergency reception possibilities during evenings and weekends.

At Kainuu diligence, initiative, responsibility and good teamwork skills are highly valued. In Finland, a doctor's work emphasizes working as part of a multidisciplinary team. In addition to the Finnish language, a doctor must familiarize themselves with the Finnish health care system and treatment practices during their free-of-charge program prior to relocation and also during induction period after arrival. The positions are located in Suomussalmi, Kuhmo and Sotkamo in Kainuu.

The Offer?


 Prior to Finnish license to practice 3 294,86€/ month
START SALARY

The basic start salary is 3 294.86€/ month BEFORE taxes and social contributions as a starting salary with no previous years of acceptable service,  and prior to receiving your Finnish license to practise. This salary is paid in accordance with the collective agreement of Medical Doctors (LS). This salary is paid as a minimum, without shift work, prior you have received your Finnish license to practice your profession as a medical doctor.

Personal salary additions (salary supplements) are possible to be paid on top of base salary.

START SALARY

The basic start salary is 6 995,45€/ month BEFORE taxes and social contributions as a starting salary with no previous years of acceptable service, in accordance with the collective agreement of Medical Doctors (LS), paygrade L1TK001C. This salary is paid as a minimum, without shift work, after you have received your Finnish license to practice your profession as a medical doctor.

You will also receive a monthly location bonus of
1 800€ per month on top of your basic salary once you sign your working contract as a licensed medical doctor in Finland, after receiving your Finnish license to practice. This will bring your monthly start salary to 8 795,45€ / month BEFORE taxes and social contributions. 
 


In addition:

The salary for the position is determined according to the Collective Agreement for Doctors (LS). 

The service years increase is 3% from the task-specific salary. with 5 years of acceptable service in accordance with the Collective Agreement for Doctors (LS).

The service years increase is 8% from the task-specific salary
with 10 years of acceptable service in accordance with the Collective Agreement for Doctors (LS).

Personal salary additions (salary supplements) and a monthly location bonus are possible to be paid on top of base salary.

What is the offer?

Contract

full-time, 2 year fixed term contract, during which you will apply for permanent position (in accordance to the Finnish law) with 38 hours 15 minutes per week working time.

Prior to licencing

A basic monthly, full-time salary of a doctor in status L1TK001B    3294,86€ /month before taxes & social contributions) prior to reaching your licenced status and when working in Finland. 

After recognition

After receiving licenced status in Finland, a basic monthly salary starting from
6995,45€/ month without previous work experience &  specialization (L1TK001C)
before taxes & social contributions but including the location bonus (*please, see above).

Additional compensation

Personal salary additions (salary supplements) could be available during and after licensing period. A monthly location bonus of 1 800€ before taxes and social contributions will be paid every month once you have received your license to practise and you have signed your permanent contract. 

Vacations

Minimum 23 days per year starting after the first full working year acting as basis for calculations. Previous accepted work experience from with EU /EEA area will add vacation days in accordance to experience years. Maximum is 38 vacation days yearly.

The expectations

Qualifications

At least a  Masters level degree from Medical school within the EU/EEA - area  (2005/36/EU) and Registered Medical Doctor / Specialist Doctor -status within EU/EEA.

Eligibility

You should be a doctor in good standing, and without a criminal record as required by the Finnish Law.

Experience

Preferrably 3 years of previous work experience as registered professional within EU/EEA.

Attitude

An independent & responsible attitude, with good communication & team working skills. 

Commitment to training

Commitment to a free-of-charge language training program, and to study a minimum 20 hrs per week in order to reach a B1 level of Finnish language at the end of the training.

Commitment to relocation

Commitment to relocating and starting work in Finland after reaching your target in language training.

Considered as a plus

Fluent English language skills. Intermediate English language skills are required.
