The emergency psychiatry unit and all inpatient psychiatric care are primarily located in Kristianstad.

The catchment area covers north-eastern and south-eastern Skåne, serving approximately 300,000 inhabitants. Despite the wide geographical area, the organisation is characterised by close collaboration, short decision-making paths, and strong cooperation with local municipalities through coordinated care planning and regular collaboration meetings.

            The Region of Skåne offers:

            • Swedish language training up to C1 before you relocate

            • Permanent, full-time position (40 hours/week) 

            • A monthly gross salary starting from €8,000-9,000 (SEK 85 000-95,000). The final salary will be set individually, based on your qualifications and professional experience, and confirmed once you have obtained your Swedish medical license in your specialty. An annual salary review is included.

            • Daytime working hours (8:00-16:30)

            • On-call duties during evenings, nights, and weekends (rotational schedule)

            Your role:

            Assessment, diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric disorders. You will be part of a dedicated and collaborative multidisciplinary team, focused on providing high-quality outpatient psychiatric care..

            • The clinical setting is primarily focused on general and specialist adult psychiatry rather than highly subspecialised units. There are opportunities to contribute with specific expertise within smaller specialist teams, while maintaining a solid base in general adult psychiatry. 

            • Current inpatient care includes one general adult psychiatry ward and one high-intensity acute ward that is closely linked to the psychiatric emergency unit.


            We expect that:

            •  You have a license to practice your profession as a psychiatrist in any European Union member country.

            • Any relevant experience is considered an asset and will be taken into account during the recruitment process. 


            • You to commit to the free-of-charge language training provided in your home country with a goal to reach a C1 level of the target language (Swedish) at the end of the training.
