Join the Dialysis Unit at Östra Hospital, part of Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg – Sweden´s second largest city known for its innovation, strong academic environment, and excellent quality of life.

You will become part of a highly specialized hemodialysis outpatient clinic providing advanced renal care to both chronically and acutely ill patients.

The Dialysis Unit at Östra offers: 

Hemodialysis treatment for chronic kidney disease

Acute dialysis care 

Person-centred outpatient care with 16 treatment stations

You will work in a stimulating environment combining advanced medical technology with close patient relationships, focusing on empowering patients and strengthening their self-care abilities. The goal is to enable patients with chronic illness to live active lives with good quality of life.

The unit is staffed by registered nurses and assistant nurses and operates seven days a week, with both day and evening shifts, including duty every fourth weekend and approximately one weekday evening per week.

The Dialysis Unit is part of Vastra Gotaland Region, within a cohesive healthcare system aiming to become Europe’s leading university hospital by 2032.               Sahlgrenska University Hospital offers:

              • Swedish language training up to B2 before you relocate, and up to C1 after relocation.

              • Permanent, full-time position (40 hours/week) 

              • A monthly gross salary starting from €2,600 (SEK 29,500) for newly graduated nurses. Nurses with approximately 3 years of experience earn around €2,900 (SEK 33,000), with 5 years of experience around €3,400 (SEK 39,000), and with 10 years of experience around €3,750 (SEK 43,000). The final salary will be set individually, based on your qualifications and professional experience.

              • Working hours: Rotating day and evening shifts, with on average one weekday evening duty per week and one weekend duty every fourth week

              Your role:

              •  Providing hemodialysis treatment to chronic and acute patients

              • Monitoring patients during treatment and manage dialysis-related complications

              Working closely with assistant nurses and physicians in a multidisciplinary team

              • Supporting patients through ongoing, person-centred care tailored to their individual needs

              • Contributing to quality improvement and development of the unit 

              • Educating patients to strengthen their self-care abilities 

              We expect that:

              •  You have a license to practice your profession as a registered nurse in any EU/EEA member country.

              • You preferrably have experience in dialysis and/or acute care.

              • You commit to the free-of-charge language training with a goal to reach a C1 level of the target language (Swedish) at the end of the training.
